Andy Leftwich

Andy Leftwich is an award-winning fiddle, mandolin, and guitar player whose extraordinary musicianship is matched by his deep faith in Christ. Raised in White House, Tennessee, Andy began playing fiddle at the age of six, winning contests and championships before most children his age had even started school. From the beginning, his musical journey has been guided not only by talent but by a desire to honor God with his gifts.

At just fifteen, Andy was already performing professionally (Valerie Smith’s Liberty Pike), and a few years later he joined Ricky Skaggs & Kentucky Thunder. For over fifteen years he toured the world with the band, contributing to Grammy-winning albums and numerous International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA) awards for Instrumental Group of the Year. Andy’s time with Kentucky Thunder not only cemented his reputation as one of the most gifted instrumentalists of his generation, but also gave him a platform to share his testimony through music.

His solo projects — including Ride and The American Fiddler — reflect both his technical mastery and his heart for worship. Blending bluegrass, Celtic, jazz, and classical influences, Andy brings a spirit of joy and reverence to every performance. Whether on stage, in the studio, or teaching the next generation of musicians, he consistently points back to the source of his inspiration: his faith in Jesus Christ.

Today, Andy is also a sought-after session musician, contributing his fiddle/mandolin/guitar playing on recordings by artists across country, bluegrass, and Christian music. He continues to record, perform, and lead worship, using his music as a ministry to encourage others. His career is a living example of how God can take a young boy’s love of the fiddle and turn it into a lifelong calling that glorifies Him.
